LCCTA Senior Mini Tennis - February 12-18
USTA Florida has been emphasizing 10-and-Under Tennis on smaller courts, well the Lee County Community Tennis Association (LCCTA) is taking the smaller game to new heights...in age that is.

The LCCTA is introducing a new tennis format for seniors which utilizes a smaller court, slower bouncing ball, and lighter racquet. The initiative and format focuses on "fun, fitness, and friendship." Essentially it is a way for seniors to have a good time while getting exercise and meeting others with similar interests. Interested seniors, or pros interested in learning more can attend one of the free play days planned for the week of February 12-18. Visit www.leecountytennis.com for complete details.

Coming Soon to Cypress Lake
Director of Tennis at Cypress Lake Country Club, Terry See wants to remind you that the
Hank Jungle Memorial Benefit will be held on February 25th & 26th. It will include Rated doubles, a Pro-Am, an Exhibition, Silent Auction, as well as the unveiling of the newly added Hank Jungle Memorial Court. If you are interested in participating, you can contact Terry at 239-851-6663 or terrys10s@comcast.net.

For those who didn’t know or don’t know of Hank Jungle, he may have been the biggest influence on tennis in the area at one time. He taught some of the best players in the area, was the owner of Park Meadow Tennis when it was THE place for tennis in the area; brought in big name professionals, some with whom he worked; and was one of the driving forces that brought the Florida Open to Fort Myers.

Hank spent his last days in tennis at Cypress Lake Country Club and the Memorial Court will serve as a testament to his influence in and impact on out tennis community.

Whether you knew Hank or not, I think the event will be one to remember. Game, set, match...T A
